I have always been fascinated by
antique gameboards. The prices of the original boards were always beyond my price range and I found I could not afford to own the antique ones.
So I decided to begin to design and paint my own interpretations of the originals from long ago. I have
attempted to reproduce the aged look of a board that's seen many years of gameplay and then turned up years later in an old barn. I have been told by many that my finish reproduces that look and feel.

The background is black with mustard, red, green, blue and cream detailing and matching standup playing pieces. Compass Rose Checkerboard An authentically worn looking and aged gameboard that features a compass rose design in the gutters. The gameboard is painted in a barn red with genuine milk paint and has a heavily crackled surface. The compass rose design is in a very faded combination of colors consisting of grey, green and gold.
